Enter the latitude and longitude of the location and click the Search button. We entered the latitude and longitude from the GNIS entry for the cemetery — 38 55.58 N, 088 54.18 W. The Google Earth application “flies” to the location on the map.

The location is marked with a pushpin, and the latitude and longitude label appears to the right. If the map zooms in too far, you can use the scale in the upper-right corner of the map to zoom out. Just move your cursor to the area containing the circle with the N. Using your cursor on the N moves the map in a circle. Clicking in the circle below it moves the map up, down, right, and left so that you can see different areas. Below the compass is a scale with plus and minus signs — clicking the plus and minus signs allows you to zoom the map in and out.
